Mariah Carey sang the iconic Italian song Volare in Italian at the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony in Milan on Friday, and the reviews were all over the place kinda like a beginning skier on a steep slope.

One critic uttered an OMG but needed a toke. So maybe thats a good thing?

Another wrote unsuitable, and more than a few complained that, with so many Italian singers around, why not let one of them sing it?

(Were partial to the Dean Martin version, but hes definitely not available.)

In an otherwise restrained performance, Carey did belt out her signature high note while singing her hit Nothing Is Impossible.

That alone might be worth the price of admission.
